Aeschynanthus sp. ‘Lipstick’ Care

Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light for your Lipstick Plant. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. A north or east-facing window is often ideal, or you can use sheer curtains to filter the light if your plant is near a brighter window.

Temperature: Maintain a consistently warm environment for your Aeschynanthus ‘Lipstick.’ It prefers temperatures between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C) and should be protected from drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

Humidity: These plants thrive in higher humidity levels. To increase humidity, mist your plant regularly or use a humidity tray. You can also group it with other plants to create a microclimate with increased humidity.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out before watering again. Ensure proper drainage, as the Lipstick Plant doesn’t like sitting in water. Water less during the winter when it’s not actively growing.

Fertilization: Feed your Aeschynanthus ‘Lipstick’ every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength. Do not fertilize during the winter months.
